Today, the exhibition “5 Años Grupo de Grabadores Casaplan” (5 Years Print Artists Group Casaplan) was inaugurated by the Corporación Cultural de Viña del Mar at Sala Viña del Mar on line. My contribution:
Casaplan is an open and pluralistic space whose doors are always open to all those who want to develop and perfect their interest in the art of printing.
This exhibition commemorates the 5 years of existence of the outstanding institution and its group of print artists that arose thanks to the impulse of Javiera Moreira Mayr, a national artist who generated a space for meeting, dialogue and dissemination around print art that, among other things, seeks to feed and strengthen the regional artistic imaginary.
A total of 27 works make up the sample that constitute each other as a visual statement of the discourses that inhabit the Print Workshop, in the languages of woodcut, etching, aquatint, lithography, algraphy, serigraphy and photolithography.
The vast majority of these images stem from to the “Sao Paulo” folder, a series of prints that were made for the exhibition in this city in August 2019 and that had not been opened since their return to Chile at the end of January of this year. It is an opportunity to better understand the technical and creative processes of printing.
P.S: My name was spelled wrongly in the article, but this has happened so often by now that I got used to it. I am now just curious which version of wrong spelling was used.
