Old Jewish Cemetery = Remah Cemetery, Krakow
The cemetery is located next to Remah Synagogue in the Jewish Kazimierz district and was used between 1535 and 1800. Most of the cemetery was destroyed by the Nazis with only some that remained intact, e.g. the tombstone of Rabbi Moses Isserles, the Remah. Since, rediscovered tombstones, e.g. those used as paving stones, have been returned and re-erected.
New Jewish Cemetery, Krakow
The nearby New Cemetery was opened in 1800 and has been in use since. Many tombstones were destroyed by the Nazis. An extensive renovation took place in 1957.
